The Notice of Race of the Palermo-Montecarlo 2025 is online on the official website of the event – www.palermo-montecarlo.it – the historic 20th edition of the regatta conceived and organized by the Circolo della Vela Sicilia in collaboration with the Yacht Club de Monaco and the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda, scheduled from 19 to 24 August 2025.
Considered one of the most beautiful and interesting regattas in the calendar of the great offshore sailing in the Mediterranean, the Palermo-Montecarlo this year will also be an important stage in some of the most followed circuits: the IMA (International Maxi Association) Mediterranean Maxi Offshore Challenge (MMOC), the Trofeo d’Altura del Mediterraneo, the Mediterranean Trophy of the Class40, the “Championnat et Trophée Inshore et Offshore Méditerranée en Équipages IRC; and above all of the FIV Italian Offshore Championship, with one of the most significant coefficients for the final ranking that puts some Italian titles up for grabs.
From the first edition that started on August 18, 2005 to the last one in 2024, which saw 51 participants and the new race record set by the maxi 100-foot Black Jack in just over 44 hours, the Palermo-Montecarlo has established itself as a classic with a strong international connotation (more than half of the boats in the latest editions come from European and non-European countries).
The Notice of Race of the 20th Palermo-Montecarlo 2025 can be read and downloaded on the official website, which also contains the link to the pre-registration form. It should be noted that “Early Bird” registrations made by June 5 can benefit from a discounted fee. In addition to all the technical information, the BdR, also in English, contains the provisional program, which includes a presentation conference and skipper meeting on Monday 18 August at the Circolo della Vela Sicilia in Mondello and the closing of registrations, the departure at 11:55 on Tuesday 19 August and the deadline for arrivals on Sunday 24 August, the day of the awards ceremony at the Yacht Club del Monaco.
